ALEXANDER (Meagher), Theresa Ellen
February 15, 1929- February 19, 2014. Our dearly loved mother passed away peacefully at home on Feb­ruary 19 after a short illness. She was predeceased by her husband, David Joseph Alexander (d. June 24, 2004); her siblings and their spouses, Margaret Anne Lemieux (Paul), James Arthur Meagher (Joan), Patrick Joseph Meagher (Mildred \'Winnie\'), and Marie Frances Wright (Charles). The ma­triarch of our family, she was known in her youth as \'Minnie\' and she was an accomplished athlete. In her youth, she competed in swimming, tennis, and hockey, the latter for which she was inducted into the Windsor Birthplace of Hockey Hall of Fame. Later, she became an avid golfer and was an active member of the Ken-Wo Golf Club, New Minas. In keeping with her wishes, an Irish Wake will be hosted at her home, 220 Avon St., Hantsport today, Thursday, February 27 between 6-9 p.m. All friends and family are wel­comed to come and celebrate her life. A funeral mass will be held in St. John The Evangelist Parish, 339 King St., Windsor on Friday, Febru­ary 28 at 11 a.m. with reception to follow in the church hall. A private interment service will be held later in the year.

Ellen married David Joseph Alexander on 19 Feb 1955 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. David (son of James Alexander and Theresa Mary O'Quinn) was born on 10 Sep 1929 in St. Georges's. Newfoundland; died on 24 Jun 2004 in Hantsport, Hants, Nova Scotia. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
