It is with great sadness we announce her unexpected passing, Tuesday, August 11, 2015, in the Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born in 1928 in Greenwich, she was a daughter of the late Vaughan and Grace (Anderson) Taylor (Hantsport). She was predeceased by her husband, Bob Brooks. Marion cherished the beauty of the Annapolis Valley and memories of growing up in Hantsport where she was an Apple Blossom Princess. She thoroughly enjoyed her profession as lab technologist, working in Point Edward, Yarmouth, and Halifax (VGH). Marion belonged to IODE for many years (Leif Erikson Chapter, Yarmouth, Marquis of Rockingham, Halifax) and served as Brownie leader in Yarmouth. In her pastime she played in various bridge clubs and continued to cook and try new recipes. Travel was a very important part of her life and she loved the many experiences it afforded. The cottage and close friends at Lake Annis meant the world to her and she considered one of the best places to be was sitting on the veranda by the lake with the hummingbirds buzzing by. Marion was known for her kindness, generosity and creativity and people marveled at her constant good nature. She will be so missed. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sister, Ruby O\'Dell; niece, Jill O\'Dell and nephew, Carmen O\'Dell.

Corey Brooks O'DELL — Kentville

Age 66, of Kentville, and formerly of Centreville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville with his family by his side. Born on January 22, 1957 he was a son of the late Corey Brooks and Ruby (Taylor) O’Dell. Corey worked as a lab technician for the Blanchard Fraser and Valley Regional Hospitals, before having to retire early due to illness. He was a former Scouts Canada leader and large supporter of scouting. He loved the outdoors, especially camping and beach-combing. He liked to shop and keep up on the latest trends, styles and new fads. He was rarely idle, keeping busy working and building. He enjoyed travelling and going for drives, and had a passion for music. Corey was a very kind and generous man, and will be dearly missed by those who knew him. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Mary Lee (Spicer); brother, Carmen O’Dell; sister, Jill O’Dell; and sister-in-law, Lydia (Spicer) O’Dell. Interment will take place in Habitant Cemetery, Habitant at a later date.

O\'DELL, Carmen Vaughan 58, Hantsport - With deep sorrow we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Carmen at home with his wife Susan and trusted four-legged friend Ranger by his side. Carmen was born on January 22, 1957 and was the son of the late Corey and Ruby (Taylor) O\'Dell. Predeceased by first wife Lydia; sister-in-law Mary O\'Dell and his four-legged friend Schooner. Carmen was a 15 year member of the Hantsport Fire Department. A Memorial Service followed by a reception will be held on Thursday, August 13th at 2:00 p.m. at the Hantsport Fire Hall, Rev. Terry Coldwell officiating. A private family interment will be held in the Riverbank Cemetery.
