Dorothy Eleanor SYPHER (Dorman) — Hantsport

Age 97, of Hantsport, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 15, 2024, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Mom was born December 3, 1926 in Kentville, to the late Malcolm and Laura (Dunham) Dorman (of Kentville), where Mom remained while she grew up. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved husband of 76 years, Morley; and son, Steven L. She was an amazing mother, wife and friend. Her husband and soulmate passed away in 2006 while residing in Hantsport. She moved to Gladys Manning nine years ago and then Dykeland Lodge for the last two and a half. She received excellent care in both of these homes and made many friends. The staff were loving and many became friends. Mom loved her family, African violets and schnauzers. Her life was especially full when she had all three at the same time. She was quick with a smile, always good natured and thinking of others, quick to make friends and appreciative of all the kindness she received. A graveside service will be held at a later date in Riverbank Cemetery, Hantsport. Donations in memory of Dorothy may be made to Hantsport Baptist Church, PO Box 152, Hantsport, NS B0P 1P0.

The family will receive guests on Wednesday, May 15 from 1:45-2:30 p.m., in the Wellwood Community Hall, 6 Willow Street, Hantsport. A funeral service will immediately follow at 2:30 p.m., in the sanctuary of Hantsport Baptist Church. Interment will take place in Riverbank Cemetery, Hantsport.
