    Notes:

    Died:
    Renda Mary VANDERTOORN — Hantsport

Age 61, of Hantsport, passed away peacefully in Hants Community Hospital on August 10, 2022. Renda graduated from Hantsport High School and completed Grade 12 at Windsor Regional High School. She became a proud graduate of Acadia University in 1986 with a degree in Education focused on Physical Education. Renda didn’t stray far from home and upon graduation she began her teaching days in Hantsport in 1987 as their Physical Education teacher. Renda continued teaching in Hantsport (with brief stops in Avonport and Gaspereau) until she retired in 2017. She cherished spending time with family and friends and was always on the go to make that happen. She loved planning events, parties and holidays thus acquiring the name “Cruise Director”. She never missed a birthday, anniversary or special occasion without giving someone a card. Her family will dearly miss posing for her pictures, her super competitive games nights and her relentlessness in putting family and traditions first. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Thursday, August 18th, in Lindsay Funeral Home, 194 King Street, Windsor, NS B0N 2T0. Funeral will be held 3 p.m. Friday, August 19th, in Hantsport Baptist Church, 6 Willow St., Hantsport. Rev. Jennifer Riley officiating. For those who cannot attend the service “Live Streaming” is available. To watch the livestream, go to the Hantsport Baptist Church Youtube Channel. There will be a private burial after the church service and reception to follow at the church. There also will be a “Celebration of Life” in Community Centre, 6 Main St., Hantsport from 6-8 p.m. for family and friends. Online condolences may be sent by clicking on “Guest Book” at: www.lindsaysfuneralhome.ca There were many things that Renda held near and dear to her heart. Among those were her hometown of Hantsport, her love of sports and her students. Respecting this and in lieu of flowers, the family would ask that any donations be made to Hantsport Memorial Community Centre, Renda VanderToorn Memorial, 6 Main St., PO Box 142, Hantsport, NS B0P 1P0 or e-transfer to: hmccinfo@gmail.com or Hantsport Memorial Scholarship Foundation which accepts e-transfers at: info@mattbalsor.com
