HENSHAW, Winnifred Mae 'Winnie' — 87, Lockhartville, Kings Co., passed away Monday morning, February 20, 2012, at home surround­ed by her loving family. Born January 11, 1925, in Wolfville, she was a daugh­ter of the late Frank Devoue and Evelyn Spencer. Winnie was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed. Winnie was the last sur­viving member of her family being predeceased by brothers, Eldon and Frank; sisters, Freda and Eleanor; grandson, Brian at birth. Cremation has taken place. There will be no vis­itation by request. A memorial service will be 4 p.m. Sunday, February 26, in Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home, Wolfville with Rev. Gary Manthorne officiating. Interment will be at a later date. Family flowers only. Donations in memory of Winnie may be made to the Victorian Order of Nurses Kings Branch, Annapolis Valley Palliative Care or a charity of choice.

Winnifred married Earl Leroy Henshaw on 30 Jun 1946. Earl (son of Percy Alexander Henshaw and Elizabeth Brewster) was born on 17 Oct 1926 in Lockhartville, Kings, Nova Scotia; died on 12 May 2022 in Lockhartville, Kings, Nova Scotia; was buried in Lower Horton Cemetery, Grand Pré, Kings, Nova Scotia. Gloria Jean Sherman
Age 72, of Lockhartville, Kings Co., died suddenly at home, Monday, September 2, 2019. Born on February 10, 1947, Gloria was raised in Lockhartville and was a daughter of Earl Henshaw and the late Winnifred (Spencer) Henshaw.

Gloria enjoyed being part of the Hants Border Community Hall and the Sisters of Hope group. She also enjoyed country music, especially Matt Balsor’s concerts.

Besides her mother, Gloria was predeceased by her husband, Fred Sherman. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, September 9 in DeMont Family Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Gary Manthorne officiating. Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery, King St., Windsor. A reception will be held in the Hants Border Community Hall, 13910 Hwy. 1, Hants Border.

It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the passing of Kenneth Laird Burton, 48, at home in Lockhartville on January 7, 2018. He was the beloved son of Kathy and the late Laird Burton. He was predeceased by grandparents. He is survived by aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Kenneth was born in Windsor, NS on February 4, 1969. He attended L.E. Shaw Elementary, Horton High School, and completed Computer Technology with ICS. Kenneth had a great passion for classic rock music, a keen interest in cars, especially Lamborghinis, and computers. He enjoyed reading, art, and piloting. A favourite past time was feeding and watching the birds.

He was a son, nephew, cousin, and friend. Kenneth was known to be a bit of a daredevil with a smile that made one smile in return. With his own unique style of humour and a knack for teasing, you could always be assured of a chuckle. Kenneth kept his circle small, but those within were very special to him and he was a great loyal protector. He left us with many fond memories to cherish and will be loved and greatly missed.
