RISSESCO, Jerimah Joseph \"Jerry\" - 78, Windsor, Hants Co., passed away on February 28, 2010, in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born August 28, 1931, in Parrsboro, he was the son of the late Thomas Anthony \"Tony\" and Margaret (Duggan) Rissesco. He was a strong family man who enjoyed spending time with his beloved wife, his children and grandchildren. Jerry enjoyed travelling and gardening. He was an amazing father and grandfather and many special memories were made on road trips throughout Canada and during family gatherings. Jerry, a graduate of the Nova Scotia Normal College, taught public school for over 30 years in Saskatchewan, Alberta and in Nova Scotia in Cumberland, Colchester, Kings, Shelburne counties, as well as Halifax County (Harrietsfield Elementary School, Herring Cove Junior High School and Gertrude Parker Elementary School). He was recognized for excellence in teaching in remedial reading while teaching in Herring Cove. Jerry served as a local President of the Nova Scotia Teachers\' Union in Halifax County. He was active in scouting, serving as a cub leader in Spryfield. After retiring from teaching, Jerry worked as an instructor at the Windsor Workshop. He enjoyed making a difference as an educator and working both with youth and adult learners.
