    • Jean Elizabeth WOODWORTH — Lockhartville

Age 97 of Lockhartville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, in Dykeland Lodge, Windsor. Born in Lockhartville, on June 5, 1926, She was the daughter of the late Walter and Esther (Shaw) Brown. Jean started her working career at The Canadian Keyes Fibre for 15 years and then worked as a bus driver for The Kings County School Board for 15 years until she retired in 1991. She was a past Noble Grand at the Rebekah Lodge and a member for many years. Jean enjoyed many hobbies such as knitting, crocheting, scrapbooking, reading, sewing, playing cards and when she was in her 80s she learned to paint using water colours. She even showed her art at a local art show. Jean and her husband “Willie” owned a hobby farm and she enjoyed all aspects of farming, from caring for the horses, ponies, and cows to gardening and working on the land. Jean worked fulltime outside of the home as well as working on the farm but always made time to care for her families needs such as sewing, playing games with the children and put on a good meal. Jean always made sure to make time for everyone. In addition to her parents Jean is predeceased by her loving husband of 60 years, William “Willie” Woodworth; her loving sister, Grace (Carey); her brother-in-law, Bruce Carey; and great-grandson, Quentin Sheffield. The family would like to acknowledge the staff on Burden Lane at Dykeland Lodge and thank them for their loving care they gave to Jean. A Graveside Service will be held at a later date in the Riverbank Cemetery.
