- William Jesse Allen – 78, of Wolfville, Kings County, passed away on July 30, 2025 at Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Hantsport, he was a son of the late Annie Allen.
William worked on Gypsum boats for many years. He also worked for the Canadian Coast Guard on ice breakers as well as a linesman for several cable companies, from where he retired. He was an avid sports enthusiast, playing baseball with the Tides and the Hantsport Shamrocks and watching baseball games in person and on tv. He loved cars, especially his beloved Dodge Charger. William had a passion for blues and jazz music and enjoyed reading and learning. He was always up for a coffee meet at Tim Hortons with friends to discuss ever changing politics and religion, or to spark up a good debate. William was a registered advocate for mental health and would speak out about his own experiences in hopes to help others through their difficult days.
In addition to his mother, he was predeceased by two brothers, Edward and Eldon.
Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation, by request. There will be a public graveside service on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in the Riverbank Cemetery, Hantsport.
Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association or the Brain Injury Association of Nova Scotia.
