- It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Beverley Ann (Oake) Jodrey, 84. Bev was born in Truro, NS on April 7, 1940, to Harry and Sadie Oake of Stewiacke, NS. She was the youngest of three sisters, Barbara Enright, Hamilton, ON and Carol Hunt Calgary, AB. Bev graduated from the nursing program in 1961 at the VG Hospital in Halifax and it was during this time she met her future husband, Dale Jodrey, who passed away in 2020. Together they had two children. They resided in Hantsport, NS for many years before fully settling in Wolfville, NS. Bev was known as a kind person who maintained a positive approach toward life. She dedicated herself to helping others having spent 50 years as a Registered Nurse, before fully retiring at the age of 72. Nana will be missed dearly by all those who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Nova Scotia Alzheimer’s Society in Bev Jodrey’s honour. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service (with livestream) will also be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 24th, Reverend Ivan Norton officiating. Interment will be held in the Gaspereau Cemetery followed by a reception in the Gaspereau Community Hall.
