- Gary Wayne “Duke” Myles, age 79, of Grand Pre, Wolfville. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Duke on November 22, 2022 at Valley Regional Hospital with family by his side. Born in Wolfville, he was the son of the late Nathan and Dorothy (nee England) Myles.
Duke was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He worked as a mason with Carry Bros. for many years. Duke was heavily involved in the exhibitions, an event that he always looked forward to, and participated as an ox teamster. He loved his time spent on the farm in Gaspereau and enjoyed watching all of the different types of birds while he was there. He had a love of the Christmas holidays and was enthusiastic about putting up lights and decorating the house. Duke had 3 special animals that will miss him dearly, Rosie, Bella, and Tinkerbell..
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters Hilda (in infancy) and Betty; brothers Donald, Eric, Stanley, Robert, Cecil, Bud, and Keith “Mickey”; and son-in-law Mitchell Houghton.
Cremation has taken place. A service will be held at a later date.
Donations in memory of Duke may be made to the SPCA.
The family would like to extend a special heartfelt thank you to the amazing staff at the Valley Regional Hospital and EHS. The kindness and compassion shown to Duke and our family will never be forgotten.
