- Boran, Violet B. - 86, Kolbec, passed away Saturday, November 2, 2013 in the Cumberland Regional Health Centre, Amherst. Born in Hansport, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Marjorie (Whitman) Veino. Violet graduated from the nursing program at All Saints Hospital as a RN. She spent most of her nursing career in Laval, Quebec and retired in 1982 and moved to Kolbec with her family where she continued to live. Violet along with her family attended All Souls’ Anglican Church, Oxford in which she was a member of and also belonged to the ladies guild. Violet was predeceased by sister, Joyce Stevens, brothers, Gilbert and Robert. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, November 6 in All Souls’ Anglican Church, Oxford. Arrangements in care of MacDiarmid’s Funeral Home, 5075 Main St, Oxford (447-2930). Donations may be made in Violet’s memory to the Heart and Stroke Fund of Nova Scotia or to All Souls’ Anglican Church.
