- ROGERS (Tracey), Bertha Marion — Of the Windsor Elms, Falmouth, formerly of Lockhartville, Kings Co., passed away at the age of 94 on Tuesday, November 27, 2012. Born in Lockhartville on October 12, 1918, she was a daughter of the late Edward \'Elisha\' Tracey and Osa (Davidson). She was predeceased by her husband, Manford; her son, John; her daughter-in-law, Monique. Bertha was the last surviving member of her family, being predeceased by sisters and brothers, Evelyn Schofield, Bessie Schofield, Leora Vaughan, Jessie Schofield, Minnie Schofield, Mary Schofield, Hilda Keddy, Leroy, Arden and Aubrey and also Robert in infancy. Bertha took great pride in homemaking and was an excellent baker, quilt-maker and did lovely embroidery. She was very involved in the local community and Lockhartville United Baptist Church. She was a member of the Lockhartville Sewing Circle, the Thimble Six Quilters, the Women’s Institute and the Minas Waves Seniors Group, with whom she travelled and participated in many events. She visited several areas, including Nashville, Costa Rica, Illinois, Magdalen Islands, Labrador, and many places in Western Canada. The family thanks the wonderful staff at Windsor Elms for their compassionate care over the last several years, along with the chaplaincy, Debra Mosher, and the Rev. Gail Whalen-Dunn of Stoney Hill United Baptist Church, Lockhartville. Interment will be in Riverbank Cemetery, Hantsport.
