      During the attack on Regina trench this N.C.O. exhibited a wonderful example of fearlessness during the period of consolidation, he guided and directed the whole working party over his platoon frontage and despite the enemy artillery fire he was continually along the top of the newly constructed parapet, guiding the improvement and construction of the newly won positions.

      John Jr. was farming in the Delisle area when he enlisted in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan late in 1915.

      He was killed in action at Canal du Nord, France.
