- MORRIS, Claude Hamilton - 81, Bridgetown, passed away April 23, 2008, in Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Wards Brook, he was the son of the late Hamilton and Susan (Ayer) Morris. He received his early education at Hants Border and Hantsport schools. He was a veteran of the Second World War and the Korean War. He had a total of over 30 years service in the Royal Canadian Armoured Corps, with service in three regiments: RCD's, LDSH (RC) and, the 8th Canadian Hussars. He had several postings in Canada, Japan, Korea and Germany. His last posting was to CFB Cornwallis where he retired in 1975. After his military service, he worked at the Bridgetown Home Hardware for a number of years. Throughout his life, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, and many other sports, especially baseball. He was an amateur genealogist, collecting the history of his family, Morris and Spicer. He was predeceased by sister, Barbara Peach. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Bridgetown. A private graveside service will be held in Riverbank Cemetery, Hantsport. Donations in memory may be sent to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
