- Beverly Grace "Bev" King, passed away on July 3, 2024, in Kings Riverside Court at the age of 92. Born in Truro, she was a daughter of the late Hessel Hollingsworth and Grace (Dimock) Kilcup.
Though Bev was born in Truro, she lived most of her life in the Annapolis Valley with her husband, Bruce. It was there that they lived, worked and raised their family. Bev adored her family, and she was very close to her mother, Grace. She dedicated many years to caring for members of her family.
Bev had a passion for animals, over the years she owned poodles and her beloved cat, Sammy; she also had a very special bond with her daughter’s cat, Harvey and dog, Cooper.
Bev enjoyed listening to music and watching movies, especially the classics. She enjoyed travelling and went on many trips with Bruce. One of her favourite vacations, however, was a trip to California with her mother.
In recent years, Bev lived in the Kings Riverside Court retirement facility. She fully enjoyed her time there, making many friends with whom she’d have coffee with three times a week at the "round table". Bev was especially close with her friend Donna, the pair would take the time to eat lunch together every day. Bev was a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, she will be missed by all whose lives she touched.
In addition to her parents, Bev was predeceased by her husband, Bruce; brother, "Al" (Sharon) Hollingsworth; niece, Lauren Hollingsworth Ford and nephew, Bryce Hollingsworth.
Bev’s family would like to extend their thanks to the staff of Valley Regional Hospital, especially the nurses in Med C who cared for her in her last days.
Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. A Celebration of Life will be held on July 13, 2024 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. A private family burial will take place in the Riverbank Cemetery, Hantsport.
