- It is with heavy hearts we announce that Edith Rosemary Buxton of Divide, NB, loving wife and mother, passed away peacefully with family by her side, on Saturday, February 20th, at the Upper River Valley Hospital in Waterville, NB. She was 80 years old.
Mom was born October 10, 1940, in Centre Burlington, NS and is the daughter of the late Charles and Nellie (Greene) Fox.
Mom moved to NB in her late teens to attend Centreville High School. It is there that she met the love of her life.
Mom loved her family and dedicated her life to us as a wonderful wife and stay-at-home mom. She was known for her caring, warm welcoming personality. She always had a cup of coffee in her hand or nearby and loved to share her delicious baking with others. Mom was a wonderful seamstress and sewed for many people. She could mend, fix or design clothing with ease, and many knew her as “Pins & Needles.” She also loved to knit, cross stitch, and quilt, and always had a project on the go. When she needed a “break from the sewing room” you could usually find her with a book, as she was an avid reader, or in her beautiful flower beds, because much like her mother, she loved to garden. Through their years together, Mom and Dee, socialized with many friends, snowmobiling, four wheeling, canoeing and fishing, motorbiking and dancing.
When Mom moved from Riverbank to “the camp” in Divide, in the 1980’s, she became actively involved in the local church, a Friendship Club, and sold Avon in the area. Mom was also a member of the Red Hat Society.
Mom was a wonderful woman, and she will be missed by all who knew her, and especially those who loved her.
Due to Covid-19 there will no visitation or celebration of life at this time. Mom will be laid to rest at the Argyle Cemetery, in Divide, at a later date.
