- It is with love and gratitude that we share the passing of Louise Marie McNeil, age 92, on Thursday, October 23, 2025, in Dykeland Lodge, Windsor. Born in Melanson on July 15, 1933, Louise was the youngest daughter of William and Blanche (Benjamin) Allen.
After graduating from Mack Business College, she worked at Minas Basin Pulp and Paper in Hantsport, where her husband of 63 years first spotted the new lady. Together they raised five children in Hantsport.
Louise was a devoted wife and mother whose cooking, baking and knitting were legendary. She would drive and cheer at all our sporting events and bake for fundraisers. She loved playing bridge, cards with friends and in later years, enjoyed quiet afternoons in the gazebo, sipping an Iced Capp.
Louise proudly supported Donnie in his work with the Hantsport Fire Department and their home businesses. She managed the household, the fire phones, bookkeeping and reports — all while raising five busy children.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by husband, Donald; daughter, Nancy; granddaughter, Hayley; brothers, John and James; sisters, Laura, Ida and Margaret.
Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). There will be no visitation. A celebration of Louise’s life will be held at a later date.
