- It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ella June Young (Crowell) on January 27, 2025, at the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, NS. Born October 5, 1951, in Windsor, she was the daughter of the late Reg and Lindy (Bezanson) Crowell.
Predeceased by her brother Laurie Crowell, Bishopville, sister Elva Peach, Falmouth, niece Barb Crowell, great nephews; Addison Hopkins and Logan Blue.
Ella was affectionately known to her nieces and nephews as Aunt Junie, Aunti Ella or Aunti Ella June. She always made sure you were special in her life. A party never started until Ella entered the room whether it be her boisterous personality, a laugh, a joke, a smile or a song. Family parties meant her brother Laurie on the guitar with his three sister Elva, Ella, Mary singing beside him in perfect harmony. She was always up for any adventure life had to offer with Doug by her side. She could be chaperoning young girls to a conservation camp in PEI or being Mrs. Claus to Doug’s Santa, camping trips with her sister Elva and family to the US, or joining the Red Hatter and having the honor of being the Crown Jewels Queen. She never missed an opportunity to dress up and loved her many, many rings.
She was always willing to volunteer whenever needed whether it be the Hantsport Food Bank, the Revival Shop at the Hantsport Baptist Church, turkey dinners, corn boils, lawn darts, anything that involved her camping family at Coles Campground (Boutilier's Glen). She loved playing Rummoli card game with her friends once a month. She was also a hairdresser in Hantsport for 10 years.
Thank you to the Doctors and nurses on emergency and medical ward at the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, N.S. Oncologists Dr. Riopal, Dr. Stefen Allen, Dr. Wilkie and staff at the Dickson Building in Halifax, NS.
Donations in Ella's memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Hantsport Baptist Church Wellwood Hall, Sunday February 9, 2025, 2pm to 5pm.
