- Elizabeth Darlene Spencer, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, passed away on May 29, 2025, in Windsor, Nova Scotia, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. Born on November 26, 1954, in Windsor, Nova Scotia, Elizabeth was a straight-shooter, who always told it as it was, but was full of warmth and kindness to all who knew her.
Elizabeth's life was defined by the love she shared with her family.
Elizabeth was predeceased by her grandparents parents, Asahel and Marjorie West who raised her as their own, her brother Kenny Hartt, and her uncles Arthur, Paul, and Russell West. Their memories will forever be held close to her heart.
In addition to her family, Elizabeth touched the lives of many through her work at CKF in Hantsport, where she dedicated over 19 years of service. She was known for her passion for crocheting and knitting, and her baking skills were legendary, with her egg tarts being a particular favorite among her loved ones. Her community spirit shone through her volunteer work, particularly at LE Shaw School, and the community organizations in Bishopville. She found joy in camping, spending time at her trailer, tending to her beloved flower garden, solving jigsaw puzzles, and playing radio bingo.
Her family would like to send special thanks to the doctors and nurses of the palliative care unit at Hants Community Hospital.
In her memory, the family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a charity of your choice, a testament to Elizabeth's generous and giving nature.
A graveside service will take place on Sunday June 8, 2025 at 3pm in Bishopville Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Gail Whelan-Dunn. A reception will follow at the Bishopville Hall.
Elizabeth Darlene Spencer will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her love, laughter, and unwavering kindness will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love and light she brought into the world.
