    • Roy Edward VanBUSKIRK — Of Greenwich died on April 19, 2024, in Kentville surrounded by family after a brief cancer battle. Roy was born August 27, 1939, and grew up in Hortonville. He was the fourth son of the late James and Velma (Higgins) VanBuskirk. After high school Roy worked several places and, in 1958, began his career with Nova Scotia Light and Power, later known as NS Power. He took early retirement in 1993 and puttered at gardening; odd jobs; sharpening skates, knives, and garden tools; and fixing things for anyone who asked, while entertaining a multitude of friends in his Man Cave. In 2023, after 56 years in their home on Eden Row, Roy and Eva moved to Greenwich Heights. In addition to his parents, Roy was predeceased by brother, Burton “Bud / Buddy”. Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 27, in the Gaspereau Baptist Church with Pastor Connor Kehoe officiating. Dress code is casual plaid. A reception will follow at the White Rock Community Centre. Interment in the Lower Horton Cemetery, Grand Pre, at a future date.
