- RAFUSE, Madelon Jean (RN)
Age 77, of Mount Denson, Hants Co., passed away on Saturday, December 29, 2018, in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born on November 22, 1941, in Martock, Hants Co., she was a daughter of the late William and Merle (Hopkins) Taylor. Madelon graduated from Payzant Memorial Hospital in 1962 School of Nursing, and worked as a Registered Nurse at both Payzant Memorial and Hants Community Hospitals until her retirement in the mid 1990’s. She spent countless hours helping and supporting her friends and neighbours through good times and bad. She enjoyed Sunday family dinners, spending time at Mockingee Lake, camping with her grandchildren, shopping, lunches with friends and laughing with her 'sisters at heart' (Norma, Connie, Brenda, and Dorene). Mum’s favourite time of year was Christmas and the family was glad that they were able to celebrate one final Christmas with her. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by brother, Lewis; sisters, Josephine Munroe and Kathleen Taylor. The family would like to thank all those who helped Mum and Dad through the last few months. Also thanks to the staff of the Palliative Care Unit at Hants Community Hospital, with special thanks to Dr. Cathryn Smith who provided excellent care in her final days. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, January 4, 2019, in Lindsay Windsor Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Garnet Parker officiating. Burial will be held at a later date. Donations in memory of Madelon may be made to The Children’s Wish Foundation.
