- Basil Colin Duncanson - 78, of Hortonville, Kings County, passed away Tuesday, November 11, 2014 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Hortonville, he was the only child of the late Cyril and Edith (Coffill) Duncanson. He attended the one-room school house in Hortonville and later attended Horton Academy. A well-known businessman, he worked with his father, beginning in 1958, at the C.R. Duncanson and Son Paving Company, which later became Basil Duncanson Enterprises Limited. In 1968, he and his wife, Beverly opened Duncanson Ski-Doo, which they owned and operated for many years. He loved his dogs, was an avid history buff and enjoyed outdoor sports, including snowmobiling and water skiing. He also enjoyed seeing his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Cremation has taken place. There was no visitation, by request. A graveside service was held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, November 15, 2014 in the Willow Bank Cemetery, Wolfville, Reverend Gary Manthorne officiating. A reception followed in the family home, 70 King Street, Hortonville, NS.
