Cordell was employed with Green for Life and served in the Militia for a number of years. He was a long-time member of the Blackwood Hodge Bowling League, and an avid Bid Whist player, who enjoyed family camping and cribbage. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, John and Eileen Thomas, and maternal grandparents, William and Sarah States. Burial in East Preston Cemetery.
