Many friends throughout the province will learn with regret of the death after an illness of several months' duration of Mrs. Sophia Elizabeth (Bessie) Oickle, at the home of her son, Emmerson and Mrs. Oickle, Cottage Avenue, Hantsport.
The late Mrs. Oickle was born at Upper Cornwall, Lunenburg County, 85 years ago, a daughter of Edmund and Seletus Demone. With Mr. Oickle and family, she removed to Hantsport many years ago and made many friends by her bright and friendly disposition. She was predeceased by her husband, Alvin Oickle in 1933.
Left to mourn their loss are three sons, Lauris, in the United States; Albert, Bridgetown; Emmerson, Hantsport; and three daughters, Olivia, Mrs. F. Veinott, Lawrencetown; Elnora, Mrs. Banks, Farnham, Quebec; and Novella, Brockton, Mass.; one sister, (Letitia) Mrs. E.A. Joudrey, Mahone Bay. There are also a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The funeral service was held from her late home on Saturday at 1 p.m. with interment at Lawrencetown. Rev. Frank Stone, pastor of the Baptist Church, officiated.
