- MOREHOUSE, Oscar W. - 95, Hantsport, passed away in Victoria, B.C., on March 4, 2008. Born in Centreville, Digby Co., he was the son of the late Nelson and Ada Morehouse. During the Second World War he served with the RCAF in Britain and North Africa. A machinist by trade, he was employed for many years in Hantsport and later in Wolfville. He was a Past Master of the Masonic Lodge, P.D.D.G.M., and recipient of the 50 year Jewel. He was predeceased in 2006 by his beloved wife, Ruth (Turner), and earlier by sisters, Rita, Vera and Murial (all of the United States). Throughout all their retirement years in Victoria, he and Ruth had frequent contact with their many friends in Nova Scotia, and with the Hantsport Baptist Church as members. Their cremated remains have returned "home" for interment in Riverbank Cemetery, and a memorial service for both of them will be held on April 30 at 2 p.m. in Hantsport Baptist Church, Rev. Dan Jamer officiating.
