- CHITTICK, Ernest Leroy
Age 81, of Sheet Harbour, passed away Sunday, March 23, 2014 in Eastern Shore Memorial Hospital, Sheet Harbour. Born in Sheet Harbour on October 31, 1932, he was a son of the late Frederick and Mary (Naugler) Chittick. Leroy worked as a river driver and was an excellent logger in his earlier years; he was employed with Scott Paper Mill for 13 years. Leroy did general contracting, retiring from Mactara as a heavy equipment operator. He enjoyed playing cards, splitting his wood, and tinkering around the yard. Predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Elizabeth Ramona \'Noan\' Chittick; brothers, Frederick, Raymond, Arnett, Warren, and brother-in-law, Donald Hartling; sister-in-law, Roberta Chittick. Memorial service will be held Friday, March 28 at 2 p.m. in St. James United Church, Sheet Harbour, Verna Dunlop officiating. Burial in the church cemetery.
