    • Donald Perry "Don" "Donnie" LIGHTFOOT — Wolfville

1933-2021 Donald Lightfoot, long-time resident and entrepreneur, 88, of Wolfville, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family following a brave and courageous battle with cancer on Thursday, November 25th in Evergreen Home for Special Care, Kentville. Born in Wolfville on September 3rd, he was the son of the late Aubrey “Roy” and Evelyn Rose (Smith) Lightfoot. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great- grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Known by many as “Wolfville’s Barber”, and later in his “memoir”, the Barber of Mud Creek. Don was an entrepreneur, opening his first shop in Wolfville on Main Street known as the Razors Edge. He worked as a barber for 68 years, 25 of those years, with his daughter, Sarah. Don established real estate/rental properties and was a proud partner with his son on the farms’ poultry operation. He was a member of Wolfville Baptist Church, enjoyed travel and running marathons, completing six! He gave graciously of himself within his community through his involvement in the Wolfville Lions Club, Kings County Housing Authority and the Order of Odd Fellows (IOOF). Always kind, dedicated and proud of his family; it is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to our beloved father. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by the love of his life, wife of 62 years, Barbara Kathleen (Gollan). A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 5th in Wolfville Baptist Church, Wolfville, Rev. Doctor Scott Kindred-Barnes officiating. A private family interment will take place immediately following the service in Lower Horton Cemetery, Grand Pré.
