- LIGHTFOOT, Barbara Kathleen 'Betty'
Age 80, of Wolfville, Kings Co., passed away peacefully in her sleep following a brave and courageous battle with kidney failure, Thursday, January 28, 2016, in the VG Site, QEII, Halifax. Born in Hantsport on May 28, 1935, she was a daughter of the late Gordon and Alma (Rafuse) Gollan. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. In her earlier years, she had been employed in the Bursary Office of Acadia University and later sold real estate. She also was a well-known insurance agent throughout the area. In most recent years, she, together with her husband Don, developed real estate/rental properties and worked the family farm. She was a member and former Deacon of Wolfville Baptist Church and enjoyed travel. She was dedicated to her family, gave graciously of herself, had a loving heart and a strong tenacious spirit. It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to the beautiful matriarch of our family. She was predeceased by brother, Reginald 'Reg' Gollan. Burial will take place at a later date in Lower Horton Cemetery, Grand Pre.
