- FAULKENHAM, Elwood Mark 'Woody' — 77, of Halifax. It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of 'Hubby, Dad, Grampy' on Friday, November 2nd, 2012, at home and surrounded by his loving family. He was predeceased by his father, Clyde Faulkenham. Woody will be missed by many friends, both in Halifax and their second home, 'The Cottage' in Lorneville, his golfing buddies at Amherst Golf Club, and his very supportive extended family of sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews. He spent his working years as an automotive salesman with Maritime Accessories in Fredericton, N.B. and later as Manager in Halifax, and in his retirement years he enjoyed the stock market. He met Shirley in Fredericton, N.B.; this love lasted for an amazing 50 years and they were so proud to celebrate this on July 7, 2012, with family and friends at the cottage. Although he had been sick for many years, he never showed it and was always up for a glass of his wonderful homemade wine with family and friends who dropped by. We would like to thank the family that gave him his new heart in August 1998. Your generosity allowed him 14 extra years. We have thanked you in our prayers many times. He firmly believed in the golden rule, 'Do unto others, as you would have others do unto you', and he followed this to the end by donating his body to Dalhousie Faculty of Medicine so others can benefit from him. We would like to thank the amazing team of doctors and nurses at the QEII Transplant Clinic, as well as the Palliative Care Team and VON who helped us so much at the end. His life will be celebrated later with a family gathering. Burial of his ashes will occur later in Lorneville Cemetery.
