1132 Pauline Linda (Sisco) Kyle, August 30th, 1956 – November 22nd, 2022. After a courageous battle with cancer, Pauline Linda (Sisco) Kyle exchanged her fleshly robe of mortality to put on the fresh robe of immortality. Forever to abide in the presence of Jesus Christ, our Saviour and King.

Pauline grew up in Lockhartville surrounded by family. In her early, years she moved to Halifax along with her older sister, Sharon and younger brother, Gerry to live with their older sister, Anne, and her family. After public school, Pauline began a career in health services in Halifax until marrying and then moving to Africa.

Pauline loved to travel. She enjoyed learning about and experiencing different cultures, people, and cuisines from all over the world. She had the good fortune to have lived in many different countries throughout her lifetime including Kenya, Jamaica, and the United States. After returning to Canada, she settled in Ontario where she worked as an LPN for several years and meet met her husband, Patrick. After retiring she moved to Quebec to live closer to her sister, Sharon, and her family, as well to enjoy her retirement with Patrick and their dog, Kia.

The biggest joy of her life was being a mother to Natasha who she loved more than anything. They had an exciting life together living in Africa and the Caribbean when Natasha was younger. Although for the last several years they have lived in different countries, this did not diminish the love she felt and had for her daughter.

Before her death, Pauline returned to her Nova Scotia, with the plan to help “Momma Anne” and be surrounded by her extended family. Unfortunately, the diagnosis of cancer she received in July cut short the new life she had planned. Pauline accepted the journey that was ahead of her. Throughout her battle with cancer, she demonstrated an abundance of cheerfulness, an extraordinary sense of positivity, indomitable courage, and rare grace. This all reinforced her understanding of the importance of family. She was blessed to have her family with her in these final months and this was especially evident by the exceptional, loving, and devoted care that her sisters and niece offered her in her final days.

She had one very special great nephew that she affectionately referred to as 'My Little, Big Man' who brought her much laughter, joy, and love.

She will be missed by all who knew her.

Sadie was often called upon to mother babies, toddlers and youngsters in addition to raising her own boys. Increasingly, Sadie became famous for her award-winning pies, bread and rolls, preserves and fancy work in local exhibitions. She was always proud to display her many ribbons and awards which were won by her at local county exhibitions throughout the province. Sadie was a founding member of the Bishopville Daisy Club. This club became the hub of activity when it purchased the former \'Little Red Schoolhouse\' and was renovated into the community hall. 1136 Peggy Lee Angela Atwell, 46 of Hantsport passed away October 5, 2019 in the Halifax infirmary. She was the daughter of Irene Atwell and the late Ernest “Pean” Crowell.

There was hardly a time that you would see Peggy without a smile, unless you tried to take one of her sticks that she favored, then her expression turned to unimpressed, as she loved her sticks in her hands to twist and to snap. Peggy had her mother’s heart and her father’s love of laughter. Her love of laughter made her quick to join in on any practical jokes. These were usually instigated by her sister and directed at their mother.

She loved and cared for all her family, but recently she enjoyed a special relationship with her little cousin, Ben. Peggy always wanted to be helpful in any way she could. When hanging out clothes, she made it her job to go get you the clothespins and then put them away when done. Her helpful heart wasn’t so handy when you would place a $20 bill on the table, and Peggy would “clean-up” and throw it in the garbage bin for you.

Peggy lived her life by enjoying the simple pleasures; long car drives, wiener roasts and playing ball with her dog, Jasper. She had a lifetime of watching planes fly across the sky and she got to enjoy her own flying adventure in her final hours. Peggy loved her family, animals (especially horses), being outside and the holiday season. When the leaves changed color, she began her argument that the Christmas tree needs to go up. By far, the most desired in her life was her favorite drink, Pepsi. You could never have enough.

A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at 4:00 pm in the Bishopville Cemetery.

Born in Shelburne, the youngest of six children, she was a daughter of the late Rev. G. R. and Hattie (Gunn) McKean. She grew up in various rural communities in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, where her father had pastorates. A graduate of Dalhousie University and the Maritime Business College, she taught bookkeeping at the Maritime Business School and at the Halifax County Vocational School prior to her marriage. Isabel was actively associated with her husband, Bill, in his pastorates in Bayfield, N.B. and Great Village. Isabel successfully blended family and career. Married for 57 years, she and her husband were a perfectly matched team. Sharing the same ideals and a huge capacity for work, they made big things happen. Together they founded and ran the seniors home, the Windsor Elms, and later, the Lancelot Press publishing company. As publishers, they helped bring the dreams of many local writers to print. They attracted a lifelong circle of creative spirits and encouraged their children to pursue their own artistic careers. Among the works they published was a book by their son, Robert, called \'Illness and Healing\', recording in words and in art, his experience with cancer. After their son’s death at age 35, Isabel and Bill established the Robert Pope Foundation and travelled widely touring Robert’s paintings in cities throughout North America and abroad. This Foundation continues to support, through scholarships and other programs, art and medical students at NSCAD and the Dalhousie Medical School. Isabel and Bill also sponsored and organized ten tours by the Second Mile Society, a Christian fellowship they founded, that took groups to many local and international places of interest. Corston, 10 group trips to various parts of the world, including two trips to the Holy Land (Israel). Bill was a member of the Windsor Rotary Club for over 35 years, a past president and a Paul Harris Fellow. As a former program director at the YMCA in Halifax, Bill had a love of sports and was a fierce competitor among a close-knit group of tennis enthusiasts who met regularly at the South End Tennis Club. Bill also enjoyed landscaping his hilltop property in Mount Denson. Bill was a gifted public speaker and a dedicated team leader who inspired many remarkable individuals to work with him in the pursuit of worthwhile causes. On the death of his son, Robert (a talented artist who portrayed his cancer experience in a memorable series of paintings) Bill established the Robert Pope Foundation and exhibited his son’s work in over 60 cities worldwide. It was Bill’s dream that the Robert Pope Foundation continue on a permanent basis. The foundation’s board members, many of them personal and valued friends, shared his enthusiasm. Services of healing and of encouragement in creative and artistic endeavours continue to be carried out. The family would like to thank the Hants Community Hospital for its wonderful service. Doctors, nurses, palliative care workers and every member of the staff gave expert and loving care that helped Bill and his family through his final days. Pope, William Robert (I11660)
