    42, of Chalet Hamlet, Hants Co., passed away peacefully, Wednesday, June 19, 2013, sur­rounded by his loving family in Hants Commu­nity Hospital, Windsor. Born in Windsor, he was the son of Elwood and Marilyn (MacKenzie) Dillman. Chris graduated from Horton High School, Kingstec Community Col­lege and NSIT with his CNC ma­chining certificate. He loved fishing, hunting with his father and friends at the hunting camp and hockey, which he played for many years. It is also known that he was an avid Montreal Canadiens fan. Chris en­joyed spending time at his home, surrounded by the beauty of the lake.

    DILLMAN, Elwood Lewis

    Passed away peacefully on December 20, 2018, in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born in Admiral Rock, Hants Co., on June 15, 1940, he was a son of the late Thomas A. and Lyla Blanche (Turple) Dillman. He grew up and attended one-room schools in Admiral Rock and Rines Creek, graduated from Stewiacke High and completed studies from the Canadian Institute of Traffic and Transportation. Elwood was a member of Avon United Church (formerly St. James United Church) and served on the Official Board. He was general manager of the East Kings Winter Hawks Minor Hockey Team for many years and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a long-time member of Poyntz Lodge No. 44, A.F. & A.M. in Hantsport serving as Worshipful Master of the Lodge in 2005. Elwood joined the staff of the Department of Highways, as it was then known, in 1957. Two years later he joined Canadian Pacific Railway (DAR) as District Manager. In 1968 he left the railway and moved his family to Hantsport to work with CKF Inc. as Transportation Manager. In 1985 he joined Scotia Investments Limited as Group Distribution and Group Environmental Coordinator and worked with the \'Jodrey Family\' until his retirement in 2005. From 1968-1985 Elwood was a director of the Atlantic Provinces Transportation Commission and served as chairman for three years. In recognition of outstanding leadership with the Canadian Industrial Transportation League, at its annual dinner in Toronto, he was presented with the 1990 Distribution Executive of the Year Award for Canada. He was past chairman of the Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters Canada, past chairman of the Canadian Pulp & Paper Association and served on the Nova Scotia Workers’ Compensation Board from 1998 to 2005. He was the founding member and first chairman of the Nova Scotia Resource Recovery Fund Board that established a province-wide plan and operation for the management of solid waste in Nova Scotia. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brother, Ivan, in infancy; and his son, Christopher Thomas Dillman, who lost a courageous battle with cancer in June of 2013. Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). A funeral service celebrating Elwood’s life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 19th in Avon United Church, 17 Prince St., Hantsport, Rev. Beth Johnston officiating. A reception will follow in the church hall. Burial will be at a later date in Riverbank Cemetery, Hantsport.

    Elwood married Marilyn Eileen MacKenzie. Marilyn (daughter of Boyd MacKenzie and Elizabeth MacLeod) was born on 30 May 1944 in New Glasgow, Pictou, Nova Scotia; died on 14 Aug 2020 in Dykeland Lodge, Windsor, Nova Scotia; was buried in Riverbank Cemetery, Hantsport, Hants, Nova Scotia.   2. 3.  Marilyn Eileen MacKenzie was born on 30 May 1944 in New Glasgow, Pictou, Nova Scotia (daughter of Boyd MacKenzie and Elizabeth MacLeod); died on 14 Aug 2020 in Dykeland Lodge, Windsor, Nova Scotia; was buried in Riverbank Cemetery, Hantsport, Hants, Nova Scotia.

    DILLMAN, Marilyn Eileen

    Age 76, formerly of Hantsport, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 14, 2020 in Dykeland Lodge, Windsor. Born in New Glasgow on May 30, 1944, she was a daughter of the late Boyd and Elizabeth (MacLeod) MacKenzie. Marilyn grew up in River John, attending grade school in Tatamagouche, completing high school at West Pictou High. She moved to Halifax after high school, accepting a position with Harris & Roome Supply Ltd., where she met her loving husband of 54 years, Elwood. In 1968, Marilyn moved to Hantsport with her young family and immediately became involved with the community. She was a member of Avon United Church (formerly St. James United Church) and an active member of the UCW for many years. Gifted with a beautiful soprano singing voice, she led the junior church choir and was a longstanding member of the senior church choir, often taking a leading role in many musical events. Marilyn was also a member of the Windsor Jaycettes for many years where she formed many lasting friendships. She began her professional paralegal career in 1973 in Windsor. Later, she joined Thorpe, Buntain, Muttart & Forse Law Firm, Kentville and was employed there for many years prior to her employment with TMC Law, Kentville where she proudly worked until her recent retirement. Marilyn was a Justice of the Peace for more than 20 years, officiating many marriage ceremonies. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Elwood Lewis Dillman; son, Christopher Thomas Dillman and sister, Elizabeth Ann (MacKenzie) Griffiths. There will be a public graveside service celebrating Marilyn’s life on Tuesday, August 25th at 11 a.m. in Riverbank Cemetery, Riverbank Drive, Hantsport; Rev. Bill Gibson officiating.
