Laura Bessie Graham, 92, of Corner Brook, formerly of Lockhartville, Kings County, Nova Scotia died August 13, 2000 in the Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Corner Brook. Born in Lockhartville, she was a daughter of the late William and Mary Alice (Harrington) Starratt. She had been an active member of the Avonport Baptist Church, serving as Treasurer, Sunday School teacher, choir member, and in the Missionary Society. She was a former member of the Minas 50 Plus Seniors Group of New Minas. She was predeceased by her husband, Frederick; sisters Elta, Muriel, Alice; brother George. Granting her wishes, cremation will take place and a memorial service will be scheduled at a later date, both in Corner Brook and Nova Scotia. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to a scholarship fund in her name, administered through the Corner Brook Rotary Music Festival.
