    WEATHERBEE, Earl William — 79, Wolfville, passed away July 9, 2011, in Grand View Manor, Berwick, where he resided for the last four months. Born December 30, 1931, he was a son of the late Gilbert and Clara (Jessop) Weatherbee. Earl enjoyed family get­togethers, politics, hockey and in his early years loved to play hockey. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a Past-President of Wolfville Lions Club and Past-President of Dr. C.B. Lumsden Branch No. 74, Royal Canadian Le­gion, Wolfville. Earl was a plumber by trade and had worked for the Nova Scotia Department of Highways, New Minas. Besides his parents, Earl was predeceased by stepson, Carl Smith; grandson, Chandler; sister, Shirley; brothers, Albert and Lewis. There will be no funeral by request. Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, July 13, in Serenity Lind­say Funeral Home, Wolfville. Family flowers only. Interment will be in Wil­lowbank Cemetery. Donations in memory of Earl may be made to the Grand View Manor, Berwick, Cana­dian Cancer Society or to Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia.

    Gertrude Selma Weatherbee (Smith)

    Age 86, of Upper Dyke, formerly of Wolfville, passed away at home on Monday, November 16, 2020 surrounded by her family. Born in Lockhartville, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Elsie (Weagle) Smith. Gertrude lived in Lower Wolfville for 56 years, then resided in Upper Dyke with her dear dog Maggie. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Earl; son, Carl; grandson, Chandler; great great-granddaughter, Isabelle; brothers, Keith, Lloyd and Robert; sisters, Shirley, Eleanor, and a twin sister in infancy. Gertrude was the last surviving member of her immediate family. There will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 20th in Willowbank Cemetery, Wolfville, Rev. Ivan Norton officiating. Donations in memory may be made to SPCA Kings County or Royal Canadian Legion, Dr. C.B. Lumdsen Branch No. 74.
