Ed was an engineer with the Nova Scotia Department of Highways all his working life. He was an avid bridge and cribbage player. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was predeceased by brother, Clarence Reid; sisters, Lauris, Josephine; half-sister, Margaret and infant brother, John.
