DOODY Annie Ruth (ne Cornwall), born in Hantsport, NS on Aug. 27, 1905; died peacefully at Glengarry Hospital on Fairfield Road May 17, 2002. Predeceased by her husband of 43 years, Rev. Hubert Doody who died in 1978. Annie or Anne, as she preferred to be called, lived nearly a century and rose to its challenges. She attended high school in Bridgetown, NS, and then taught rural schools for two years. Working her way, she gained her BA from Dalhousie University, NS in 1929. During the Depression she studied at McGill, received her Diploma of Social Work and became District Secretary of Rosemount, Montreal. There she married Hubert Doody in 1935. Some of her husband's earlier parishes included Fort Smith, NWT, St. George and St. Martin's NB. The couple moved to the US in 1946 in Monticello and Mechanicville, NY and Detroit, MI. The next Canadian parishes were Centreville and Dalhousie, NB, followed by Galiano and Mayne Islands, BC. During retirement spent in Victoria, Annie served in the Anglican Church Women and founded the Prayer Group of Christ Church Cathedral. On Aug. 17, 2001 she was hospitalized for a bad stroke. We would like to thank Dr. S. Rhone and the staff of the Glengarry Fairfield Unit for their wonderful care. Visitation at First Memorial Funeral Home at 1155 Fort St., Thursday, 23 May 4 to 6 p.m. Funeral service will be held on 24 May at 2 p.m. at Christ Church Cathedral, 912 Vancouver St., with cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

- Freda Winnifred Doody was born on 31 May 1944 in Saint John, New Brunswick; died on 19 Oct 2007 in VG Site, QEII, Halifax, Nova Scotia; was buried in Riverbank Cemetery, Hantsport, Hants, Nova Scotia.
