    Notes:

    Died:
Wendy Marie (nee Francis) Rafuse … It is with profound sadness that we announce Wendy’s peaceful passing on Saturday, June 27, 2009 at her home on the Glooscap First Nation, Bishopville. Born in Halifax on July 3, 1956, she was a daughter of Bill and Neta (nee Tupper) Francis. Wendy was a loving wife and a caring mother and grandmother. Her devotion to the people she loved was obvious to all who knew her. She was quick to laugh and enjoyed telling stories of her experiences, both past and present. Wendy was a strong, proud woman who was never heard to complain and was always ready to assist others. The love of her dog, Tee and of nature, especially watching the birds that she so diligently fed, various crafts and “shopping for sales” were a source of everyday enjoyment for Wendy. Her best friend and life partner, Vincent Martin was always with her and together, they enjoyed every day to the fullest. She leaves memories that will never fade. Her passing leaves a sadness that can only be relieved in knowing that she is now resting peacefully in God’s care. She was predeceased by her father, Bill and step-mother, Jessie, both in 2002; her twin granddaughters, Taylor and Taryn Rafuse in 2006. She was also predeceased by her maternal and paternal grandparents. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 2, 2009 in St. Joseph’s Chapel, Glooscap First Nation, Bishopville, Father Craig Christianson officiating. Interment will take place at a later date. A reception will also be held in the Glooscap Community Centre. Family flowers only, by request. Donations in memory may be made to the Nova Scotia Lung Association.
