Died:
Joyce Agnes Macinnis
It is with sadness, but with hearts full of love, that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Nanny/Ginnis, Joyce Agnes MacInnis of Hantsport, on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, in Orchard Court Nursing Home, Kentville, with family by her side. Born on May 5, 1936, in the small hamlet of Nicholsville, Mom was a daughter of the late Cecil and Vera (Spinney) Palmer, and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Living most of her life in Hantsport, she retired from CKF Inc. after 35 years of service. She loved her small town, her job and the many friends that she met there. She was an avid bowler and was still bowling into her early 80s. Mom loved her visits to the family camp in Bishopville, tending to her flowers and plants and all things canine. But most of all, she loved sharing time with her extended Johnson and MacInnis families. Besides her parents, Mom was predeceased by her husband, Leonard MacInnis; brother-in-law, Ronnie MacInnis (Faye); brother, Gerald Palmer and her dear sister, Alfretta Morse (Lawrence), with whom she shared a very special bond. There will be a private family interment in Riverbank Cemetery, Hantsport. Family flowers only. Donations in memory of our mother may be made to the Hantsport Memorial Community Centre, PO Box 412, Hantsport, NS B0P 1P0 or the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia, 112-2719 Gladstone St., Halifax, NS B3K 4W6.
