MOUNCE, Charles A. \'Chuck\'
Age 80, of Hant­sport, passed away suddenly on Sun­day, May 26, 2013, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born on December 11, 1932 in Wind­sor, he was a son of the late Andrew and Ethel (Drys­dale) Mounce. Chuck attended Windsor Academy and Kings Edgehill School, and worked 39 years with Maritime Tel & Tel. He was a past member of the Windsor Curling Club and Avon Valley Golf and Coun­try Club. Chuck retired from the Hantsport Fire Department as Deputy Chief and was a life member of Tele­phone Pioneers. Some of Chuck’s best times were spent with his firefighting comrades and a good round of golf with friends and family. An avid sports fan of the Toronto Blue Jays and Ottawa Senators, he loved watching his grandchildren compete in all their sports. In his retirement, he was a hob­byist (model builder, trains, ships, planes, and automobiles) much to the delight of his grandchildren.

Charles married Tanya Jean Folker. Tanya (daughter of Harvey Clair Folker and Florence Tressa Rushton) was born on 17 Sep 1936; died on 1 Dec 2020 in Falmouth, Hants, Nova Scotia. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Mounce, Tanya Jean (nee Folker) – age 84 of Hantsport passed peacefully on December 1, 2020 at the Windsor Elms Village, Falmouth, Nova Scotia. Tanya was the daughter of the late Floss and Harvey Folker, Hantsport, NS. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Charles “Chuck” Andrew Mounce, brother Grant Folker and sister Faye Parker.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Windsor Elms Village who have provided such loving care over the past, almost 3 years as well as the many friends who have given their love and support during this time.

Andrew married Ethel Gordon Drysdale on 4 Oct 1923 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Ethel (daughter of Henry Drysdale and Maud Etter) was born about 1894 in Nova Scotia. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Harvey married Florence Tressa Rushton on 5 Dec 1931 in Hantsport, Hants, Nova Scotia. Florence (daughter of R. Bliss Rushton and Lena King) was born on 7 Feb 1915 in Westchester Station, Colchester, Nova Scotia; died on 8 Oct 2010; was buried in Riverbank Cemetery, Hantsport, Hants, Nova Scotia. FOLKER, Flossie Tressa. 95, Hantsport-It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Flossie Tressa (Rushton) Folker on Friday, October 8, 2010. Born in Westchester Station, Cumberland County on February 7, 1915, she was a daughter of the late R. Bliss and Lena (King) Rushton. She was a member of the Rebecca Lodge. Flossie is survived by one son, H. Wayne, his wife Carolyn, two daughters, Tanya Mounce, her husband Charles and Tamara (Doug Rehberg), all of Hantsport; fourteen grandchildren and twenty seven great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Harvey, son Grant, daughter Faye, four sisters Stella, Eva, Jenny and Sadie, and one brother Gerald Oswald (at age two months). Cremation has taken place, and there will be a Graveside Service for family only on October 10, 2010, at 2:00 pm, at the family plot at Riverbank Cemetery, Hantsport. No flowers please by family request. Donations in Flossie?¢s memory may be made to the Hantsport Fire Department.
