SPIDLE, Stephen Russell \'Spiderman\'

With broken hearts, we are saddened to share the sudden loss of Steve. Born Sep­tember 14, 1950, in Wolfville, to Pearl (Barkhouse) Spidle and the late Russell Spidle. Steve was employed with Canadian Food In­spection Agency for over 27 years, retiring early due to ill health. Spi­der loved soccer, playing for many, many years, retiring a Proud Pad­dy’s Pub player. His new passion was golfing and Eagle Crest became Steve’s new home for 10 years. He not only enjoyed every game (except the loonie holes 9 and 18) but his golfing buddies also became great friends. Everyone knew Stevie was a die hard fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Blue Jays, always hop­ing for next year! Cooking supper and a glass of wine was his favourite daily routine. John Prine was on Steve’s bucket list. He not only saw him perform but also shook his hand and told him \'You may see me tonight with an illegal smile\'. Steve loved life, lived every day to the ful­lest, and will be missed by everyone who had the opportunity to know him.

Donald married Greta Miller. Greta (daughter of Merton Miller and Blanche Miller) was born in Northfield, Hants, Nova Scotia; died on 24 Dec 2016 in HCH Windsor, Hants, Nova Scotia; was buried in Riverbank Cemetery, Hantsport, Hants, Nova Scotia. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Greta "Pearle" Hill – of Hantsport, passed away peacefully, Saturday, December 24, 2016 in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born in Northfield, Hants County, she was the daughter of the late Merton and Blanche (Miller) Miller. Mom had various jobs over her lifetime, starting at Canadian Keyes Fibre, Hantsport, for 18 years. She attended Mack Business College and worked in Edmonton for five years. Her last job was Matron/Porter at Cutten House, Acadia University, from where she retired. Pearle was a beautiful seamstress, enjoyed knitting, playing cards (as long as she was winning), board games, puzzles and watching her Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Blue Jays. Mom enjoyed many bus trips over the years with her friends. She was a life time member of Hantsport United Church Women’s Group and a past member of Hantsport Elders. Pearle was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by siblings, Lorna, Maxine, Shirley, Willis, Arthur and Thelma; infant daughter, Sheila; son, Milton; great grandson, Quentin; son-in-law, Steve Spidle. A private family burial will take place at a later date in the Riverbank Cemetery, Hantsport.
