    Earl Leroy Henshaw, 95 of Lockhartville, passed away on May 12, 2022 in his home surrounded by his loving family. Born on October 17, 1926 in Lockhartville, he was the son of the late Percy and Mary (Brewster) Henshaw.

    Earl was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend who will be dearly missed. His passion was his vegetable garden which is where Earl loved to be and tended to faithfully.

    In addition to his parents, Earl was predeceased by his beloved wife, Winnifred “Winnie” (Devoue); daughter, Gloria; sons-in-law, Fred and Laird; grandsons, Brian and Kenneth; sisters, Irene, Annie, Alma, and Ida; brothers, Gordon, Joe, Paul, Sheldon, George, Rodney, Richard, and Harry in infancy.

    Special thanks to Earl’s niece, Francis Henshaw, who was a great help in his care which was much appreciated and will not be forgotten. The family would also like to thank the VON and Palliative Care workers, Dawn Lowe and all involved at the Hantsport Clinic.

    Cremation has taken place and a Graveside Service will be held on Friday, May 27, 2022 at 2:00 pm in the Lower Horton Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the VON (Victorian Order of Nurses), Annapolis Branch, Nova Scotia Heart & Stroke Foundation, or charity of one’s choice.

    Earl married Winnifred Mae Spencer on 30 Jun 1946. Winnifred (daughter of Frank Devoue and Evelyn Spencer) was born on 11 Jan 1925 in Wolfville, Kings, Nova Scotia; died on 20 Feb 2012 in Lockhartville, Kings, Nova Scotia. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Born in Lockhartville, he was a son of the late Percy and Mary (Brewster) Henshaw. Richard worked for Minas Basin Pulp and Power for 44 years retiring as Ground Wood Foreman. He was a great lover of games especially hockey, a true Montreal Canadiens fan. Besides his parents, Richard was predeceased by wife, Freda (Spencer); son, Ralph; granddaughter, Ashley; brothers, Gordon, Joe, Paul, Sheldon and George; sisters, Annie, Alma and Ida. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, October 19, at 2 p.m., in Willowbank Cemetery, Wolfville, Rev. Gary Manthorne officiating.

Born July 4, 1931, in Lockhart­ville, he was a son of the late Percy and Mary (Brewster) Henshaw. Rodney worked for Minas Basin Pulp and Pow­er Company Limited, Hantsport for 15 years prior to moving to Western Can­ada. He later returned to Nova Scotia where he worked a variety of jobs un­til his retirement. Rodney was a kind and generous man who would do any­thing for anyone. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and attending hymn sings. Besides his parents, Richard was pre­deceased by daughter, Heather; broth­ers, Richard, Gordon, Joseph, Paul, Sheldon, George and infant brother, Harry; sisters, Irene Schofield, Annie Spencer, Alma O’Brien, and Ida Spencer.

    Age 72, of Lockhartville, Kings Co., died suddenly at home, Monday, September 2, 2019. Born on February 10, 1947, Gloria was raised in Lockhartville and was a daughter of Earl Henshaw and the late Winnifred (Spencer) Henshaw.

    Gloria enjoyed being part of the Hants Border Community Hall and the Sisters of Hope group. She also enjoyed country music, especially Matt Balsor’s concerts.

    Besides her mother, Gloria was predeceased by her husband, Fred Sherman. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, September 9 in DeMont Family Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Gary Manthorne officiating. Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery, King St., Windsor. A reception will be held in the Hants Border Community Hall, 13910 Hwy. 1, Hants Border.

    It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the passing of Kenneth Laird Burton, 48, at home in Lockhartville on January 7, 2018. He was the beloved son of Kathy and the late Laird Burton. He was predeceased by grandparents. He is survived by aunts, uncles, and cousins.

    Kenneth was born in Windsor, NS on February 4, 1969. He attended L.E. Shaw Elementary, Horton High School, and completed Computer Technology with ICS. Kenneth had a great passion for classic rock music, a keen interest in cars, especially Lamborghinis, and computers. He enjoyed reading, art, and piloting. A favourite past time was feeding and watching the birds.

    He was a son, nephew, cousin, and friend. Kenneth was known to be a bit of a daredevil with a smile that made one smile in return. With his own unique style of humour and a knack for teasing, you could always be assured of a chuckle. Kenneth kept his circle small, but those within were very special to him and he was a great loyal protector. He left us with many fond memories to cherish and will be loved and greatly missed.
