    Died:
    Daniel Craig Alley, known to his friends as "Big Dan", passed away unexpectedly of a heart attack on Oct. 19, 2018 at the age of 62.

    A native to Junction City, Dan graduated from Junction City High School in 1975. He spent much of his school-age youth working on his families Christmas tree farm in Cheshire, OR. Working hard through the ranks as a young adult, he worked for several local farms, as a both a diesel mechanic and a truck driver. For a short period in his life he owned and operated his own mechanic shop, but ultimately found his way back to his passion for truck driving. The past 25 years he has been the owner and operator of H&T Trucking.

    Dan has played an avid role in his community, serving as president of operations for various organizations, including: Function 4 Junction, Truck Function in Junction, and the Springfield Car Cruise and Show n\' Shine. He was the recipient of the Distinguished Service Award in 2013 and the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2016 for 30 years of community service, from the Tri-County Chamber of Commerce.

    He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Harold Vaughan II and Wilma Faye Alley, mother-in-law Jean Banton, grandfather, Harold Vaughn Alley and grandmother Bonnie Foster.

    A benefit fundraiser is planned for Sunday Oct. 28th, 2018 from 3-5pm at Bennet Vineyard. Family is requesting guests to bring photos for a slide show and any memories you\'d like to share. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the \"Dan Alley Memorial Fund\" at any Citizens Bank location.

    A celebration of life will be held for all that knew and loved \"Big Dan\" on Saturday Nov. 3rd, 2018 at noon. Celebration of life will take place at the Truck Function lot off of W. 18th, across from Eagle Veneer, between the train tracks. A potluck will immediately follow the celebration of life.
