    Age 93 of Hantsport, Hants Co., passed away Wednesday, October 17, 2018 in Windsor Elms Village, Falmouth. Born on March 20, 1925 in Sweets Corner, Hants Co., she was the daughter of Murray and Aileen (Smith) Cochran. Verna attended the Sweets Corner School and Windsor Academy High School. As a young woman she worked for a time at Simpson Sears in Halifax during the Second World War. After the war she married Reid Fletcher and resided in Hantsport for 71 years. Verna was a loyal member and supporter of St. James United Church (Avon United Church) Hantsport. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading and walking. Predeceased by husband, Reid Ralston Fletcher; sisters, Margaret Cochran, Beulah (Roley) Phillips, Norma Tracey; brother, Brian Spence. Verna’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Windsor Elms for the loving care they gave to Verna.
