    Elliott, Mildred Florence (nee, Gardner), 79, of Canning, Kings County, Nova Scotia, passed away on Friday, August 29, 2008, in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, surrounded by her family. Born on May 11, 1929, in Leonardville, Deere Island, New Brunswick, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Mabel (Tewksbury) Gardner. She was a professional seamstress and had worked for Singer Sewing Machine Company throughout the Maritimes. She had also worked for the Canadian Bible Society as a bookkeeper and store manager in Halifax. Over the years, she gave her time and talents to many church and charitable organizations. She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a sister-in-law, Marie Gardner. A private family interment will be at the Riverbank Cemetery, Hantsport, N.S.
