    ALLEY, Ella Mae
    Age 97, resident of Arborstone En­hanced Care, Halifax, passed away peacefully, Monday, August 26, 2013, in the presence of her family and friend, Eva, in Abbie J. Lane Memorial Building, QEII, Halifax. Ella was a daughter of the late Fred and Harriett (Borden) Strong. She was born April 6, 1916 in Lockhartville, Kings Co. and grew up in Mount Denson. In 1935, she married William \'Bill\' Alley. They lived in Lockhartville, and then Hants Bor­der. In 1988, after Bill’s death in 1987, she moved to Dartmouth to live with her daughter. Lat­er they moved to Bedford. She was a member of Hantsport Baptist Church, the choir and King’s Daughters Class. Ella was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was prede­ceased by the love of her life, William Stockwell Alley; son, Edward; sisters, Beulah (in infancy), Hilda and Harriett; brothers, Bowman, Paul, Clifton and Moston. Interment will be held in Riverbank Cemetery, Hantsport, followed by a reception in the Church Fellowship Hall.

    Ella married William Stockwell Alley on 28 Jun 1935. William (son of Stockwell Alley and Amy Ida May Vaughan) was born on 29 Jan 1912 in Lockhartville, Kings, Nova Scotia; was christened on 20 Sep 1914 in Hantsport, Hants, Nova Scotia; died on 19 Sep 1987 in Hants Border, Kings, Nova Scotia; was buried in Riverbank Cemetery, Hantsport, Hants, Nova Scotia. George attended Prince Andrew High School, Dartmouth, and was enrolled in the Heavy Mechanics course at Dartmouth Regional Vocational School. He had worked as a warehouse worker with Maritime Ontario. A private graveside service will take place at a later date in Berwick Cemetery, Berwick, Kings Co.
