    Muriel Kathleen (Clowry) Guptill 92, of Avonport, passed away November 27, 2016 in the Valley Regional Hospital. Muriel was the eldest child of the late, Hibbert and Ruby (Sherman) Clowry.

    Muriel was born on November 29, 1923. She worked at Palms Restaurant (Wolfville) for 3 years, Kings Fibre for ten years as a seamstress (Hantsport) and was a Tupperware Manager for 15 years (driving many kilometers over the province of NS), winning many trophies, trips to New York, Florida, Montreal and many other places. She was a member of the Avonport Baptist church, where she taught Sunday School, was a past President of the Avonport Community Club for many years. Also, Muriel was a life member of the Missionary Society and a member of the Jems and Jewels Club in Gaspereau. She was always willing to help others in any way she could. Muriel loved her family very much and also her many friends. Muriel enjoyed getting together with her siblings very much. Her infectious smile will be dearly missed by all.

    She was predeceased by her husband, Stewart Guptill, son, William, grandson, Timmy and sister, Eileen Schofield and brother Randolph Clowry. A Funeral Service will be held on December 2, 2016 at 2:00 pm in the Avonport Baptist Church, 508 Oak Island Road, Avonport, NS, B0P 1B0. The service will be officiated by Reverend Gary Manthorne. Interment will take place at the Lower Horton Cemetery, Hortonville, NS.

    June 27, 1968 July 6, 2019. On Saturday July 6th, Reg passed away in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. He lives on in the lives he touched during his lifetime and in the lives he’s bettering as an organ and tissue donor. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Carl and Marjorie Miles; paternal grandparents, Stewart and Muriel Guptill; and uncle, Billy Thompson. Athletic in his youth, Reg excelled at numerous high school sports and studied Human Services at college in Bellville, Ont. He held various jobs over his lifetime ranging from teaching English and Physical Education in the North, construction, and silviculture. He was most happy and at peace working in the woods. A Celebration of Life will take place at one of Reg’s favourite spots, Penny Beach. Family and friends will gather on the beach in Avonport to remember Reggie on Saturday, September 14th at 4 p.m. If you’d like to honour Reg’s life, and in keeping with his spirit, we encourage you to do what he would do, a random act of kindness to make the world a better place.
