    DUNCAN, Fred Gordon - 80, Avonport, passed away Thursday, May 22, 2008, in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor, surrounded by his family. Born in Avonport, he was a son of the late Lewis and Clara Duncan. He worked at the Minas Basin for 43 years, the Fruit Company in Wolfville and Annapolis Valley Construction and Municipal Spraying. Fred was a member of Stoney Hill Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father, father-in-law and grandfather. He will be sadly missed by his many family and friends. Besides his parents, Fred was predeceased by his brothers, Perry, Malcolm, and Ronald; sisters, Marguerite and Pauline. Visitation for Mr. Duncan will be held from 7-9 p.m. today in H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home, 568 Main St., Wolfville (902-542-2151), where a funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 24, with his daughter Rev. Pauline Coffin and Rev. Gary Manthorne officiating. Interment will take place in Lower Horton Cemetery.
