Born in Avonport, Kings County, she was the former Florence Hilda Fields, a daughter of the late Fred and Caroline (Henwood) Fields. She was predeceased by her first and second husbands. She is survived by five sons, John Scott, Cecil Scott, And George Scott, all of Hantsport; Fred Scott, Los Angeles, Calif.; and Charles Barkhouse, Edmonton, Alta.; four daughters, Susie (Mrs. Ralph Starrett), Eileen (Mrs. Fred Best), and Maud (Mrs. Ivan Oickle), all of Hantsport; and Jessie (Mrs. Bert Willeger), Parrsboro; three sisters, Mary (Mrs. George Colby) and Mandy (Mrs. Edward Pinch), both of Hantsport; and Frances (Mrs. Roy Margeson), Kentville; one brother, Joseph, Hantsport; 21 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The body is at the Lohnes Funeral Home, Windsor. Funeral service will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m., in St. James United Church, Hantsport, with Rev. J.D. Archibald officiating. Burial will be in Riverbank cemetery, Hantsport.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.     Age 83 of Hantsport, passed away peacefully Sunday, September 22, 2019 in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born in Hantsport on January 9, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Captain Charles and Florence (Fields) Barkhouse. Maude worked at the Hantsport Juice Plant and Canadian Keyes Fibre for years. She was a member of Avon United Church. In her spare time she loved playing cards, doing the Friday Lexicon in the paper, going for walks with friends and especially her visits with family. Maude was predeceased by her husband, Ivan; brothers, Charles Barkhouse, Fred Scott, John Scott, Cecil Scott and George Scott; sisters, Susie Starratt and Aileen Best. The family would like to say thank you to the staff of the Annapolis Valley VON branch for their care given to Maude.

    Predeceased by her husband Ellis; daughter Carolyn Perry; son Quentin Redden; grandson Daniel Arnold; brother Joseph (Dorothy) Saulnier and sister Kathleen.

    In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place and a private graveside service will be held at a later date in the Windsor Forks Cemetery.

    In lieu of flowers, donations made to Dykeland Lodge and St. Michael’s Anglican Church would be appreciated.

    It is with great sadness the family of loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, Joseph Alcide Saulnier, Hantsport, announces his passing at the Valley Regional Hospital on April 24, 2020, at the age of 85. Born in Hantsport, Joe was the son of the late Alcide and Amanda (Pinch) Saulnier.

    Joe was employed with CKF Inc for 46 years, the last number of years as a Supervisor. He was an active member of the Hantsport Baptist Church for over 40 years, including deacon, trustee, choir, and countless hours working on the steeple. He enjoyed painting, working in his gardens, chatting with neighbors and being surrounded by family. In his earlier years, he enjoyed instructing fitness and judo classes at Hantsport School, and watching his son play baseball.

    A private graveside service will be held at a later date.

    Donations in Joe’s memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or charity of your choice.

    SCOTT, Garth Lorraine \'Scuffy\'

    Garth passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, January 10, 2019 in Hants Community Hospital, with his family by his side, as he put the old Plymouth in gear and drove off into the sunset for the last time. Born in the old Payzant Memorial Hospital in Windsor on July 11, 1941, his parents were Cecil and Jean (Black) Scott. He started his career in Halifax in 1960 at Wm. Stairs Son & Morrow Ltd. as a stock boy, worked his way up to Sales Manager and went on to Bird-Stairs. He moved on to Sales Manager of T.P. Calkin in Kentville combined with Sumner Co. in Moncton. In 1981 he and Sharon formed Scott Sales and Marketing, an Industrial Sales Agency for the Atlantic Provinces and in 1998 started a used car business as well - a sideline from his love of antique cars. In 2005, they opened their \'Memories\' Museum on their property in Hantsport to display their antique vehicles and memorabilia collectibles for everyone to enjoy. He was an Elder in the United Church in Hantsport for many years, Past-President of the Hantsport Memorial Community Centre, Past Master of the Poyntz Masonic Lodge, member of the Avon United Hand Bell Choir, Director of the Hantsport Historical Society, member of the Windsor Curling Club, Past-President of the Halifax Antique Car Club and member of the British Car Club. He was also one of the \'Beach Boys\' who tested the warm waters of the Avon River quite often. He was so proud of the history of Hantsport and its people, he shared it with everyone he met in his travels near and far. Garth possessed a wealth of knowledge on many topics and loved to share his memories while visiting Australia, New Zealand, England, Scotland, Wales and all over Canada and the U.S. For the past 20 years, he had been spending time with his buddies in Tennessee, travelling around with their bands and even recording a couple of CD’s - as he always said, he had more nerve than talent, and we were quick to agree. He was willing to try most anything. Garth was so proud of his children and grandchildren and their accomplishments in their everyday lives, soccer, hockey and horseback riding. He was predeceased by his parents and infant brother, Robert.

    Quentin "Que" Christopher Redden, age 54, of Windsor, formerly of Windsor Forks, passed away on Monday, October 1, 2018, at the Q.E. II Halifax Infirmary Site, Halifax.

    Born on June 25, 1964, in Windsor, Hants County, Nova Scotia, he was the son of Elva Martha (Saulnier) Redden, Dykeland Lodge, Windsor, and the late Ellis William Redden.

    Quentin was an electrician by trade and had worked at the Halifax Shipyards, for several years. He had previously worked with Do It Right Landscaping. Que, as he was known was involved for many years with the Windsor Royal Junior “B” Hockey team. He was also very involved over the years with the Windsor Knight’s and the Hantsport Shamrock’s baseball teams. Que also loved country music.

    Besides his father, Ellis (2012); he was predeceased by a sister, Carolyn Perry, and her husband, William; nephew, Daniel Arnold.

    Interment in the Windsor Forks Community Cemetery, Highway 14, Windsor Forks.
