    • Archibald Holmes A retired civil engineer, Archibald Rettie (Rett) Holmes, 86, of 1169 Argyle Rd died Tuesday at Metropolitan Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was born in Nova Scotia and came to Windsor three years ago. Mr. Holmes was a member of St. Mary's Anglican Church and the Professional Engineers of Canada. He is survived by his widow, Florence; three daughter, Mrs. John Broughall (Helen), Toronto; Mrs. William Pretty (Elizabeth), Pennsylvania, and Mrs. John Reid (Margeret), Windsor, and one brother, George, New Jersey. There are seven grandchildren. The body will rest at the Walter D. Kelly Funeral Home, Wyandotte St. E. at Devonshire Rd., until Thursday at 9 a.m. The funeral will be held at St. Mary's Church at 10 a.m. Canoa F. C. McRitchie will officiate. The body will be transferred to the A. W. Miles Funeral Home in Toronto for services and burial Friday.
