- Douglas Wiswell Fielding
Of Calgary, formerly of Hantsport, passed away on December 18, 2020. Born on February 18, 1934, he was a friend to many. On his retirement at 70 years of age, he commenced full time volunteer work at the Carewest Dr. Vernon Fanning Centre. In 2013 he was profiled as one of Carewest's most dedicated volunteers and continued in his efforts until 2019. He enjoyed every minute helping others by making them happy with his storytelling and helping patients in whatever way he could. During his earlier years, Doug was known as the Happy Whistler. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leigh M. Fielding and Gladys (Duncanson) Fielding; brothers, George H. and Phillip D.; sisters, Octavia and Moyra Leigh; and nephew, Gordon.
