- vanKIPPERSLUIS, Margaret — 64, of South Alton, Kings Co., passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2010, after a short but courageous battle with uterine cancer. Born in South Alton, she was the daughter of Rose Doyle and the late Raymond \'Pat\' Doyle. Margaret was a sweet, kind woman who loved to laugh. Margaret always enjoyed the outdoors. Growing up she loved to help her father work on the family farm and throughout her entire life she enjoyed spending sunny afternoons picking blueberries and riding her bike. Margaret, like her husband Tony, loved to work and during his illness, she took over the reins of the business they built together and continued to run the Christmas Tree U-pick, firewood operation and septic pumping service. During the Christmas tree season, she could be found with her dog, Chip working in the Upick, handing out candy canes to the children, talking to old friends and making new ones. Margaret’s talents extended far beyond her business sense, she was a fantastic baker and a talented dancer. She loved spending Saturday nights at the dances with her best friends and when she stepped on the dance floor no one could keep up, except for Tony. She was an amazing woman, so bright and full of life and while she may have been tiny, she certainly was mighty. Her strength was incredible and everyone that knew her was constantly amazed by her ability to persevere. She was predeceased 11 days ago by her husband of 41 years, Tony vanKippersluis.
